Avila Bike Trails

We’ve added our most popular routes to the RideSpot app, giving you turn-by-turn biking directions around Avila Beach.

Bob Jones Trail

This is a fun 2.6-mile family ride on a paved bike path. This out-and-back loop takes you past a golf course, on a bike bridge over a river, through a tunnel, and near a restaurant with great ice cream sandwiches.

Shell Beach

Explore the scenic road that connects the towns of Avila Beach and Pismo Beach. We call this area Shell Beach, and along the way you’ll see plenty of seagulls, ocean views, and clifftop parks with playgrounds for the kids.

See Canyon Wine Tasting

Halfway down the Bob Jones Trail, you’ll meet See Canyon Road, home to many local wineries and cider tasting rooms, surrounded by stunning views.

Port San Luis Obispo

Head in the opposite direction an easy 1.6 miles to Avila Beach’s other pier. Port San Luis has many fun restaurants on the pier, so you can have a bite to eat with panoramic ocean views.
